How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it would have been had I not received the transfer because my family now has access to clean water. I was able to buy a water tank with a capacity of 3000 litres using my first transfer. Due to this, I no longer go to the river in search of water during this rainy season as I use it to harvest rain water. Also, I have been able to build a more spacious and decent kitchen for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well in my village since they made sure that they registered all eligible households and I do not see anything that they did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received my second transfer, I spent part of it to build a decent kitchen for my family. I settled on this since the one I had is small and is always congested. Also, I spent some amount to pay tuition fee for my son who was doing a course in accounts. I spent the remaining amount to buy food for my family to last us for some time.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now accessible to clean water for cooking and drinking. I now rest without having to strain myself so much. I also no longer worry about consuming contaminated water since the one I harvest to my tank is very safe
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Receiving transfers from Give Directly meant my water problem was already solved. This is one thing that I was really happy about and I was glad that it was fulfilled very fast by the transfers . I am now more happier than ever before
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received the transfer from Give Directly, The first thing that came into my mind was to buy a water tank. This was because I am no longer in a position to fetch water from the water point because of old age. Besides, the water isn't always clean for drinking and cooking. I had to solve this problem for once and no longer worry about it again. I also purchased a dairy cow which will in future boost my income from the sale of milk. The money I will be generating will always sort my daily needs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build a better house. The house that I currently live in is very old and during rainy seasons water flows in hence the wooden poles that support it have become weak.I have always been afraid that one day the house will collapse on me.With this money I will buy building materials and begin building a new house in a better site on my farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon. This is the time that I get to take a rest after a lot of strenous work activities on my farm and around the home i.e weeding, planting etc. When am done for the day I get to rest and this makes me happy
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have a medical condition whereby my waist through to my back bone hurt alot. When this happens I can barely perform any duties and requires an urgent visit to a specialist. Most of these times, quite a good amount of money is required for treatment.Since I do not have a means of income,I have not been able to pay for a medical insurance cover hence I always have to raise the money required which is very difficult to come by.This is the biggest hardship I have faced
