How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I managed to build a new house. I use to live in a small one-roomed house which was too squeezed and had no privacy. I am glad that I now have my separate bedroom where I can keep my valuables safely. I also bought livestock which I never imagined of owning.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy better farm inputs and use them on my farm for better yields. I have been using local seeds and using no manure or fertilizer during harvesting which gave me poor harvests most of the times. I have saved some money to buy fertilizer to try on my crops this season and I believe I will get a better harvest.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is buying livestock. I managed to buy two sheep, a cow and goat using the money I received from GiveDirectly. I will be keeping them as my investment to multiply and add value. I will get their waste to use as organic manure in my farm. My cow will also be providing me with milk that can drink as well as sell to earn some income.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I. I also expect to have a bumper harvest of maize and beans. I am planning to use the best seeds and fertilizer in my farm this season to enable better growth and development of my crops. A good harvest will enable me to have plenty of food in my house which I will be able to sell some to make money for addressing other household needs.
