How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have started a poultry project. I used part of my first transfer to buy chicken and build a poultry house. The income I get from the sale of eggs is enough to buy food for my family. I can now help my spouse to provide some of the family basic needs and I no longer depend on him to cater for the family needs as I used to do before receiving my transfers. I have also joined merry go round using the money I get from the poultry project. I will use the savings from merry go round to buy a goat since goats matures faster and I will sell them in future to pay school fees for my children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly does well by giving the recipients unconditional cash transfers and also without any discrimination since all the residents in my village were enrolled into the program. In my opinion I do not see anything that Give Directly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer to buy an Artificial Insemination (AI) kit. My husband is a vet and he did not have the equipment and for a long time he has been hiring the equipment from his friend and this was expensive. The money he got when he is called upon to treat livestock was not enough to meet family basic needs. Since he bought the equipment the money he gets as a vet doctor has increased. I also used the remaining amount to buy a bag of maize since there was little food for my family and for a long my husband has been struggling to buy food with the little money he gets as a vet doctor.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily is that we now have enough food for our family and the joy that comes with owning a cow is evident in our life now. I no longer overwork myself now that that i can work on my farm.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so overjoyed, I could not believe my eyes when i saw the message in my phone! I could not keep calm when i realized that I just received an amount that i have never received in my life!
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the transfer that i received to buy a dairy cow for rearing. I used some part of the money to buy food and other household items. I also paid tithe and bought clothes with remaining amount.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that we will successfully complete our projects in this household. I will use the money as capital to start an agrovet business since i have always aspired to own one.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning. This is the time i thank God for the good health He has bestowed on my family and ask Him for more strength to face the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is the poor harvests we get from our farm. Due to the previous drought which was followed by heavy rainfall, we barely harvested anything in our farm which has forced us to spend most of our money in buying food.
