Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was as sleep when the money arrived in my phone and I was very excited about it. I felt that, lit was a dream come true for my family and I. Because I have thinking long ago about building a new house, so since I have received this money, I'm going to start my house projects right away.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm much satisfied now as compared to before. Because it was not easy to raise money for my new house projects and my children's school fees. Now, my children are in school and I'm going to have my a house for my family and I.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my money to buy two bundles of zinc for my proposed three bedroom house and I paid my children's school fees with the balance money.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Upon receiving this cash, my plan is that, when I receive this money, I will send my children to school and make sure that some of graduate from high school. In my father's generation, non of my father children has graduate from high school. This also goes to me as example, I stop in the fifth grade class and since then, I have not gone back to school. And I don't want this curse to be in my generation. We survive from cutting palms just to feed the family, sometime, when we sells the palm and the oil, the money can't be enough to send them to school. The house that we are presently in, is a family house, we don't have much power over the house, because this house is my wife father's house. We have other family members that are in the house with us, at the end, I have to be spending sometime in my family home and allow her to sleep with the children. For this, when I receive this money, I will use portion of it to send my children to good school and use the balance to build a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Since my wife give birth, we were happy because, there was nothing like operation or other medical problems that required proper checkup; all these make me happy. And also, when my children wake up in the morning and see them looking alright, make me happy too. Lastly, the present of Givedirectly in the village coming to my house give phone and sim card with money on it make me happy. The money they give us, they did not tell us what to do with it, but said that we should use it wisely for the benefits of the family. I will make sure that, this money will be use to send my children to school, build our house and the balance be used to put my wife in business. We know that through Givedirectly, God sent them to remove us from poverty. Givedirectly will always be remembered in my family for the happiness they have brought to us.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges that I'm faced with are many that I can't named all. Because if I start, we won't leave from here. If you see my wife and myself, this is not our body. My wife is one that can get fat. Because it is not there to feed the children and meet the needs of the family. I have to wake up earlier in the morning to go in the bush just to cut palm. Sometime, if the palm plenty, we can sell some and make some with oil just to feed and keep some of the money for other emergency needs in the family. Since my wife give birth, we have not gone to good medical hospital to really do proper medical checkup or cleanup, all these led to no money.
