How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The plan that I have is to renovate my house and make it as a new house. Since I built the house some years ago, I have not had the money to do any good work, like this one I am doing on it
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The major satisfaction about Givedirect program is that,it helps me with my children school fees, because my children going to school have been on and off. Since two years ago, they have been going to school halfway every year with no promotion, because they don't end the year due to money problem.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I got the money from the mobile agent,I went straight to the store and purchased all of the materials for the house and I used the balance money for food

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal is to fix my house because it has been my plan for a long time now but I couldn't because of lack of finance. I desire to live in a more comfortable house with my family, that is why I am using the opportunity given to me by GiveDirectly to achieve this goal.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by being kind and patient with us during interviews, they are truthful and reliable when giving information about the program, their processes are also straight and fair. I don't know of anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well, everything is okay with me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to buy some building materials for my house project, I also paid my daughter's school fees with some, I decided to invest more in the farm work because I want a good harvest this year so that I can generate more money for my family expenses.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I intend to build my personal house and make business that will help with me cash flow for the family. Even though I produced char coal, but the money generated from the coal business is used to pay my daughter's tuition in Monrovia and that the remaining stays for food. My daughter was attending in Weama Town, but due to unpaid teachers salary, the school was forced to shot down, so I decided to send my daughter to Monrovia to stay with her aunt and further her education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What makes me happy in the last six months is when my best friend, Arthur Scott assisted me with $1,500.00 Liberian Dollars on September 2, 2021 though I had about 28 bags of coal to be sold at $350.00 LRD/bag to provide food for my family, but there was no buyers. The fact that my friend Arthur was able to reach out to me and the family when we needed food that day without any money makes me very happy. Arthur and me are not related, but for the fact that he was able to bring smile to my family makes me to thank God for him.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship facing me currently is the lack of money to build my own house and continue to pay my daughter's school fees. Though I burn coal periodically and when it burns, I sell it to cater to other family challenges such as food and my daughter school fees. Even though I am not satisfied with my daughter's school situation, but due to money business I decided that she moved with her aunt in Monrovia. The money earned from coal selling is not enough to buy zinc and other building materials to start the construction of my own house. Therefore, any assistance provided to me by GiveDirectly to improve my livelihood will be highly appreciated.
