How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been because am able to take children to school and build my own house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, givedirectly has done well uplifting our people from poverty and also improved their standard of living, and it has not done well through skipping some people whom i think are genuine residents of village.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy iron sheets, pay labour for building my house, and paid school fees.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 50,000 ugx on buying food and the balance of the transfer which is 1,650,000 ugx, I am planning to buy construction materials for my house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy and I thanked God for this opportunity. I had always heard about givedirectly giving out cash transfer but I had never imagined that I would be among the lucky ones. I was too excited when I read the mobile money message.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference that I have so far seen in my life is that my dreams of building a two roomed house are happening. Secondly I nolonger have worries of school fees because this transfer will enable me pay my children's school fees.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i face is lack money for buying food. My family some times goes for a single meal in aday.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Working in my small gardens during mornings makes me happy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will help me build a permanent ironroofed house and spend some to buy a cow for milk.
