How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly improved in that, these days I pay my children's tuition on time and now have livestock that when I sell will enable me pay my children's tuition in the future. Previously, I used to get loans from a money lender who would retain my ATM card as collateral. This denied me access to my salary as long as I still serviced the loan, which made it difficult for me to provide for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly according to me has done well in educating my children by me unconditional cash transfers. In a broader perspective, these transfer have brought development in my community, because many have constructed permanent houses. On the other, so far GiveDirectly has consistently done everything right because they do not accept bribes, its employees are approachable and are committed to their work.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent my second transfer to buy three cows worth Ugx 1400000 and a mattress at Ugx 120000. The balance was spent on food and a few household items like soap, salt among others.
