How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Putting my previous life and present life in comparison, I may like to say that my life has really changed. I was having a Small house that could not accommodate the number of family members. Sometimes, I used to look for chairs from neighbourhood when having visitors, this could lower my dignity, but now, my house is well furnished with comfortable chairs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is the first organization noticed in history that gives money to the poor. The organization has got no discrimination in it's enrollment process, they had a well defined, and structured methods of enrollment at every stage without corruption. and this has given the community mandate and freedom in terms of budget as per their priorities. The re is food security. This could be noticed in nutritional improvement amongst the family. Community empowerment and capacity building in terms of education and businesses respectively. People have taken their children to school as well as opening up of business adventure.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer in building new house. I was living in one room, grass thatched house, which was leaking when it rained. Due to my it's nature, I was the talk of the village and some could ask me how long am I intend to live in that house. Having young children in the house, I used to use a lot of money in medication, because whenever they were rained on, pneumonia infection had to be noticed in them. I am now able to divert such like money into other income generating activities that could boost income for the family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in y daily life is the comfort and peace I have because I now have a decent spacious house. I now have peace and I'm proud I do not share the same sleeping room with the grown-up children, this has given us some privacy.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was preparing to go the farm in the morning after I had woken uo which has always be the norm when my brothers who are also GD recipients came visting and informed me that they already received the money. That was when I decided to switch the phone on and to my surprise there was a confirmation message that I had received the money from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy , cancelled going to the farm and planned on how to hire someone to plow the farm.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used the first transfer to purchase building materials which I have already used to construct a new house because the previous house was too small to fit my big family. I had a single room house which couldn't fit the family, and we had to sleep in the same room with the grown-up children. I'm happy I managed to construct a two bedroom house and our bedroom is separate from the children's bedroom. This has given us some privacy and comfort. A portion of the money I spent on bedding for my children, so they now have enough bedding, and they do not squeeze themselves while sleeping anymore.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a possible improvement in my living standard. I shall spend part of my money to build a new house since I am currently living in a small and uncomfortable house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon after I have completed my farm related activities. I feel peace in my heart whenever I look back and appreciate all my labour.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is my inability to foot in my household's budget. I do not have a reliable source of income hence find it more difficult to fend for my family.
