How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before I had no clue or future plans on how to take care of my family. My life is much different because the cash transfer helped me to pay school fees, and acquire basic needs for my family. More so, we can now afford more than one meal in a day because I can afford to buy food with the cash transfers. GiveDirectly has made it possible for me to communicate easily with my relatives and friends with the GD phone that I was provided.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well to send people cash transfers that have improved our standards of living. However, there is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to pay school fees worth UGX300,000 and I spent UGX200,000 to purchase school supplies and uniforms for my children. I spent UGX150,000 to purchase a mattress and UGX 15,000 to purchase a pair of bed sheets. I also bought a pair of curtains worth UGX15,000. I spent UGX45,000 to purchase a Gomesi for my wife. I am planning to spend UGX905,000 to purchase food and other basic needs for the family.
