How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
my life has been different in that we have had an opportunity to be self reliant as a family. Before Give directly came in, i did a lot of casual labour to meet the family's needs and also save to pay school fees for my children. This reduced the stress on my side and provided me with an opportunity to relax and have peace of mind.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so grateful that Give directly came in handy to assist the needy in the society. all the residents of the village benefited from the transfers as long as they were full time residents of the village. Education attained from barazas was so helpful to us. I do not see anything bad that did not go down well with me or with the other villagers as far as the operations are concerned.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer in buying a cow fro the household. Milk is a very important commodity to every household in any rural setting. Having a cow of our own as a family meant that my children will have a balanced diet and we also have an extra source of income for to meet other household needs. I also used part of the remaining amount to pay school fees for my children. It has always been my desire to give my children the best education and this was partly fulfilled by Give directly.
