Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was cutting rice on my mother's farm close to the town and I heard a loud noise. In the same minute, I saw my sister running to me with the news that people were receiving money. I quickly checked my phone and there my money was. I rejoiced; I removed my slippers from my feet and danced on the car road. I thanked Givedirectly all through that day for what they did for me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I no longer do hard labor work to send my children to school or feed them. My body is at peace and resting from too much hard work I usually did in the past. This money has empowered me to start a business that will carry me a long way in life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid for of my children's school fees with the money. I bought two bundles of zinc to build my house. I saved some of my money to start dry goods business later.
