How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! Not at all. I still want to do the same things that I had as a goal before I started receiving this money from GiveDirectly; To build a house and leave my parents house. I have now grown to take care of myself enough. I can't continue embarrassing my parents by staying in the same house. I have 4 siblings and the house is actually small. I have to sleep with my siblings every night because there's not much room in their house. Sleeping with them is so embarrassing. They would normally pee on me every night. Moreover, I want to start a family. I am so happy to be enrolled into this Program. I am going to make my dreams and goals come to reality soon. I have bought some iron roofing sheets and also paid for my sticks and planks for the house. As you can see (pointing to the location) I am about to start very soon. This is the biggest joy I have right now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly do not take back from recipient what they give them. Not even a cup of water to drink. They empower their recipients to better their lives how they feel best. This is something that they do very well. Also, once you have qualify for this program, they always fulfill their promise by sending all of our transfers no matter where we are. It's so exciting how they do it. They'll find you any how. Interestingly I have not seen anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well. Therefore I can not say what they are not doing well. For me, they have been excellent.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have suffered, sleeping in the same room with my siblings while they pee on me every night was so embarrassing. I am of age and need to also start my family. Therefore, I have bought some iron roofing sheets and also paid for my sticks and planks for the house with my past transfers. As you can see (pointing to the location) I am about to start soon. I have not used any of this current transfer that I just received. I have decided to saved the money to pay the workers and provide food while they are working. I can not imagine that I am going to be a house owner soon. It is so unimaginable. I couldn't afford this some few months ago. GiveDirectly has demonstrated what no NGO has done ever, allowing we the poor to decide what to do with our future because it is only us who understands what are sufferings are and how we want to better that. I am so excited to reach the end of this program. I wish GiveDirectly could stay much longer than they have done. Many lives would have been even more better.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! Not at all. My goals has remained the same. I have been living in my Mother's house. I need to get my own house and make a family. I have always wanted to build a house but could not reach that goal due to financial difficulties. I was so excited when I got enrolled into this Program. It has given me hope of reaching my goal of owning my own house. I am not currently marry but I think it's wise to have a descent house to host any woman of my dreams. Living with my Mother at this point in my life has been difficult. There are some positive but the challenges are huge. So, I am glad this program came to my village (World Wide Mission).
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly in my opinion has demonstrated that we are very important to them. For example, if any recipient of the program left the town for any reason whatsoever, there are teams set aside to by all cost reach out to that person. This is so unimaginable to me. This I think they do best. No matter how far you go, they are concern about your safety and they above all want to know if you received the transfer and what and how you spend it. For what it does not do well, I can't say exactly now. I have seen no flaws actually. I am just so happy for my life and that my dreams are now coming to reality.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Honestly, I have not spend my transfer. I have collected my transfer but decided to save it. I want to have my money in bulk and start building my new house. I have been saving all my transfers for that purpose. In so doing, I have spoken with the engineers about the cost to get the house build. I have also been speaking with some workers to help me cut the sticks to build the house. I want to leave my Mother's house and move into my own. This is because of the challenges I spoke about not too long. My Mother has been forcing me to get marry when I am not well prepared to take a wife. She has been complaining of inability to help her in the house. The help she's referring to is to have a daughter in law who will help with some house choice. However, I believe if my house is built, I can take the woman of my dreams in through marriage. This program has brought me that hope. I am so happy to be eligible for this program and to receive this huge amount of money. I want to make maximum use of this opportunity to better my life and future.
