What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy three (3) bundles of zinc, paid people to cut the Sticks and saw all the planks for the building. I was also able to buy food and paid my children school fees with out stress. Thanks to the entire Give Directly family for the support to us.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I want to take this time to say a very big thanks to Give Directly for services rendered us during the entire enrollment process was very transparent and your jobs were done excellently.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Martha, before GD came, I planned to build a house of my own but could not be realized due to lock of funding. My cocoa farm could not yield any positive result, even the products sales could not start a house. But when I got enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first, second and third transfers, this was a dream came true for me. With the first, second and third transfers, I will build a house of my own.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Since I married my husband, it has been one challenge after another! We had to make the toughest decision that still hurts our heart by sending our son and daughter to their aunt and uncle in order to have a better education! The farm work is exhausting yet, it's not even profitable because there's just so little we gather from it! In 2009, when I had my second son Napoleon Juwah, I got paralysed and there has never been an improvement with my situation! Till date, it has been one native doctor to the next. So, this is the biggest challenge I'm being faced with!"
What is the happiest part of your day?
"As a mother, it's my prayers that my children obey and listen to their uncle because I consider him the key to their education! In recent times, I got an exciting news from their guidance that they're behaving well and improving in their lessons. If you were in my situation, you would definitely understand my level of joy as a mother. This gives me so much joy and hope that my children are serious about their future!
What does receiving this money mean to you?
All our lives, farming has always been our major occupation in order to enbale us make ends meet. It has always been selling farm crops and saving the money with club to enable the us have enough money to send our children to school. With this cash transfer from Give Directly, we are definitely going to send some of the money to two of our children who are staying with their uncle and aunty for their school fees just to be of help for once this time around! We would also invest into a profitable business. And, if there's still cash left from the cash transfer, we would invest it into a saving club so that it can grow.
