Having accomplished all the goals that I formerly had, like starting a reliable source of livelihood for myself as well as boosting my spouse's livestock rearing. I am very thankful for the aid that has transformed our lives in many ways. With all the achievements, I don't have an additional goal that I would like to accomplish.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in sending direct cash to poor households. In addition, the decision on how to use the transfer was left to the individual households which have aided in improving the living standard of different households in our society. In my opinion, I do not see anything that they did not do well.

I invested KES 5,500 in starting a small grocery business where I am selling tomatoes, Sukuma wiki, Kales, and Spinach. This is my reliable source of income for my family. Previously, I was depending on charcoal burning, an activity that is very tiresome and has low returns. In addition, I bought 3 goats and one local dairy cow for KES 21,000 this was for boosting our livestock job for my husband. Furthermore, I used KES 6000 to clear the debt at the whereby shop where we had been taking foodstuff on credit. Also, I bought proper beddings for my 6 children who were sleeping on the floor with an old mattress that resulted in body pains after sleep. Lastly, I used KES 5000 to clear the fee arrear for my 6 children who are still in primary school.

Being illiterate made me walk around with a lot of money in my m-pesa account without knowing. It was in one of the afternoon when I heard people talking of receiving their first transfers from GiveDirectly when I was in darkness thinking that I have been left behind. I curiously told my helper to check for me too if the money was there. The news made me extremely happy and I ululated in happiness after realizing that I was not left out of the program.

The difference that I can attest is the relief I have since the time I received the transfer. Initially I was living in debts to a point of not knowing how I would explain myself to my debtors. The debts were depriving me of my peace of mind. I was not free at all even to walk along my own plot boundaries fearing I may meet one of the people who I borrowed from them. But when I got the transfer, I was able to settle all the debts and I am now a free man. My peace of mind was restored by GiveDirectly. I sincerely appreciate the support that the organization is according us the less advantaged people.

When I got the money, I thought of buying some livestock specifically cows but due to how dry our area was I had no option but going for goats though my aim was to keep cows so as to get some milk not only for sale but also for domestic use. I therefore bought 3 goats for KES8100.00. Thereafter, I bought a bed and a mattress for KES 10200.00. I bought them because I used to sleep on a small traditional bed with poor mat. I also bought school uniforms for my 3 primary school children and paid school fees for them amounting to KES6500.00. I also paid some debts and used the rest for the family upkeep.
