How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I live in a very small house with my family. The 2 bedroom house has become less spacious to accommodate everyone of us. For this reason, I used portion of my previous transfers to begin my house project. Meanwhile, with my recent transfer, my house will be completed very soon. Furthermore, I will complete payment of my children yearly tuition. I am so blessed to be part of this unique project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The various methods employed by GiveDirectly in selecting qualified household to benefit from this program is unparalleled. With these transfers, my life has improved tremendously. I am blessed to be part of this unique project. From my own point of view, GiveDirectly has been doing quite well with the entire program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The 2 bedroom apartment has become very uncomfortable for everyone of us due to insufficient space. However, with my recent transfer, I will purchase enough building materials (cement, sand, white wash etc..)to have my new house completed very soon for my family and I to move in. Moreover, the remaining portion of my transfer will be used to pay my children balance school fees.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
More especially my new goal is my children tuition. I'm a three children father without mother for them. This transfer has been my major concern because i was really depending on it to pay my children tuition.i just bought few more bundles of zinc to add on the previous one that i bought from the first transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done great things for me and my family. More especially we the poor people of Liberia. I was not even thinking of building a house with zinc. With the transfer I'm now able to build a new house with zinc.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Huge of my transfer was spent on my children tuitions. I just bought zinc and cement to finish with my house. I even spent little amount on planks and stick. I bought some provision for the house. The last little one that left with me, i paid my son graduation fee. I'm planning now for the next transfer so that i can start a small business.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home having some rest after coming from the farm when I received a message notification on my phone. When I checked the phone, it was the mobile money notification from GiveDirectly. I shouted with joy because for the first time in my life to receive this huge amount of money free without a condition attached. About two minutes after my wife came back from one of our neighbors house, I told her the good news and the next day I got prepared to go cash out my payment.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Paying my children's school fees has been a serious challenge for me. My children were not in school last school year because I could not afford to pay their school fees. Through the cash transfer I was able to pay all of their fees. Moreover, I am now building a new and decent house for my family to move in in the next two months. I pray that God blessings go with GiveDirectly everywhere it goes.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The house I am living in with my family is in a deplorable condition but getting the finance to build a better one is not an easy one as farming is the only source of livelihood for my family. I did spend portion of my most recent transfer on the purchase of zinc and the balance was used to paid my children's school fees. I am forever grateful to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity given me and my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My first plan for this money is to send my children to school to get better education. I know when i sent them to school they will help me in the future . My next plan is to change my house from trach house to zinc house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Nothing really has make me happy. Now am thinking about how my children will enter school. I don't have farm land to farm on. I usually ask for farm land to farm on but the produce from the farm is not much to sustain my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Getting money to send my children to school has been very challenging for me. On many occasions, i can borrow money just to see them in school.
