How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently this transfer that I got in my family has brought peace. Together with my husband, we now sit and plan together as compared to before when I asked for any sharing we would and up at logger heads. This was majorly because we did not have money.

GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to think of building.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is different now because I can afford to change diet for example we now take morning tea, and eat different types of food unlike before when we feasted on the same meal. Our dress code has changed because I managed to acquire some clothes for the household as compared to previously when we wore the same kind of clothes. In addition to that, I'm glad that I managed to buy a cow that will provide us with milk for consumption when it reproduces therefore this has brought joy and happiness to the family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I told my spouse that GiveDirectly has sent our money and we became so happy and laid down plans on how to spend it. I ululated, danced and thanked for bringing GiveDirectly to our lives because GD has made everything possible in terms of cash transfers.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the transfer on paying school fees for my child, I used some on treatment for me and the children, I also paid off land mortgage. I also bought household items and feeding, then booked building materials like cement and iron sheets awaiting second transfer to start house construction and finally I a bought a cow.

Receiving this money means that my family can start a small business that will support as financially and also complete school fees for my children.
