How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am very proud that my child is amongst a few children in the village who has completed college courtesy of GiveDirectly's transfer. I feel proud to say that, I did not ask for loans to settle the arrears that she had in her college which was a bigger relief to me bearing in mind the little income I make for a living. At the same time, I own a dairy cow that produces three litters of milk daily which has saved me from incurring expenses of buying milk from my neighbors like before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well through donating money that uplifted my living standards . I am very proud that my child is among a few children in the village that has completed college and that is in the courtesy of GiveDirectly .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 49,000 KES of my second transfer to pay college fees for my child who was in her final year . I am happy knowing that she has completed her course without any arrears . The remaining amount I gave my husband as a gift inform of money unfortunately he lost the money through a phone scam.
