What does receiving this money mean to you?
I had a contract with the Ministry of Health in the month of March 2017 as Community Health Assistant(CHA) for five years but the contract ended in March 2021. The money I earned from the job I was doing, I used it to build my houses and pay my children tuitions. Because my contract ended, my husband and I began making farm in April 2021 as means of sustaining our family. The money we earn from the farm proceed is use on food and medical care. Even as we speak, one of my sons is out of school because I can't afford to pay his tuition any longer. I feel bad at times seeing my son out of school, while his friends are in school but I'm not financially potent enough to meet up with my obligation. However, if I received this money I will used some to pay his tuition and use the balance to renovate my house in fish town because one saide of it has broken down.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what has brought me joy or happiness is when the District Health Office told me that there will be a renewal of our contract anytime in this year. It brought me so much joy because since my last contract ended, things have been difficult for me so gettingg back to work will enable me earn money to cater to our needs as a family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges I'm currently facing now are getting money to pay my son tuition and renovating my house. Although I had a contract with the Ministry of Health as Community Health Assistant (CHA) for five years(5) in March 2017 and ended in March 2021, the money I earned from the job I was doing, I use some to pay my son tuition and used the balance to build two houses, one in this town and one in fish town where my daughter was attended school. When my contract ended my husband and I started making farm to sustain the family but the money we earn from the farm proceeds is not enough to pay my son tuition least to mention of renovating our house. I will appreciate any help from GiveDirectly in order to pay my son tuition and renovate my house.
