When i heard people shouting about the transfer message i was so happy, i knew i could execute my goals. My goals had been to pay workmanship to the contractors building the house, buy food and pay my son school fees. I really dont have any new goals only what I planned previously.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I didn't have the goal of building a house because I knew that I could not afford it. I have a family size of four persons and we live in a one room house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am satisfied with GiveDirectly because I did contracts on a charcoal burning site, on people farms and fetch water just to survive. I do those things no more because of the help I got from GiveDirectly. All I can say to GiveDirectly is thanks.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Upon reaching the town from washing my clothes at the creek, I saw my neighbors dancing and rejoicing. As soon as I heard "Givedirectly", I ran for my phone and took it at the network area to check and there my money was. I was very happy. I said "God thank you, please bless Givedirectly people with their heart's desire". I ran back to the town and joined those that were dancing. I couldn't wait for my husband to return from the farm to share the good news with him, he was also happy when I finally told him.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Getting up every morning with the knowledge that I will be a business woman and a house owner soon is the happiest feeling I have ever had. I used to frown before due to too much suffering, but I am now a happy person because Givedirectly brought relief to me. I don't have to pick someone's coal to fill 20 bags before I get one bag for workmanship; I now have plans to start my own business with my incoming transfers and take care of my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
We have decided to buy three bundles of zinc and one cartoon of nails to build a new house. I also sent some of the money to my sister for my son's school fees. I saved some of my money to take my children for treatment at the hospital. We needed food items in our house, I sent money to Monrovia for that as well.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this transfer, I plan to reopen a business that will in return give me profit to send my children to school. My spouse struggles very hard before getting ends meet to feed the family and the money gotten from that hustle is not enough to feed us and take my children to hospital, at the same time. I had a business that I ran before but because of my children getting sick constantly, I used my business money to always take them to hospital. At that time, they used to get sick, almost every week and I had to take them to the hospital. One of them had yellow jaundice and it made me to really spend my business money on him. So, I believe that I can reopen a business that will bring me good profit that will enable me to send my children to school and also take good care of them.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, what has brought me joy and happiness was the fact that I and my spouse are not indebted to anyone. For the fact we move freely in this town and no one is pointing fingers behind us because of indebtedness, it makes me to walk with my head up high. We don't beg others for money because we are able to struggle and get something to take care of our family and that is a thing of joy for me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The current challenge I am facing is finding food to feed our children and cater to their needs, at the same time. My spouse does casual labor and I also have a small business but the money gotten from our two sources of income is not enough to cater to our children's needs, especially to provide food for them and us. My spouse goes through hard struggle and does daily hire by hauling sticks just to make money that will feed us but, it is not enough.
