How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been seriously sick and had to undergo surgery. My first and second transfers were used to pay medical bills. When I received this third transfer, I decided to build my own house because the house I am currently living in is not mine. In the main time the place I am I have decided to furnish it while constructing my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly is doing well by giving we the poor people to improve our lives. Since I was born this is the first time I have ever seen this kind of thing happens. Nothing bad I have seen on the part of the organization since it started work here.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy two bundles of zinc with portion of my recent transfer. Portion was also used to pay sawyer to produce planks for my house and that will include planks for the roofing and furniture works. The balance money was used to buy provisions for the house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No! I did not have any new goals. My old goal has been to build a house of my own. I am going to stick to that. I am so grateful for this program. I was overwhelmed when I received my money. It is a dream come true. I have been hoping to build a new house since the one we live in has spoiled. I have not been able to do so due to insufficient funds. Things have not been going too well for my family. Affording our daily meals has been a major challenge. We are poor people. Can not afford a square meal. I am so excited that things are getting better gradually.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does not do anything unwell. It has changed our lives and we are so happy for it. We are so grateful to be a part of this amazing program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
First of all I am so grateful for this opportunity. I was overwhelmed when I received my payment. As the saying goes, empty bag cannot stand. I used some of my money to buy rice and some other food items. I also bought some building materials including zinc. I saved a little amount of my money to pay contractors.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My family and I never had a suitable place to stay. Our current house is old and it has become insecure to live in. The roof is also falling apart. However, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I was very glad and celebrated. I will use portion of my transfer to renovate my old house. The remaining portion of my transfer will be saved.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My family and I live in a very old house. Due to low income, I could not afford a suitable place to call home. Out of a sudden, GiveDirectly has changed my situation entirely. Being able to renovate my old house by making it a suitable place to stay will be the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I needed to renovate my old house. Due to low income, it was impossible for me to achieve my goal. Therefore, when I receive my transfer, a huge portion will be used to purchase 2 bundles of zinc to replace the old roof over my house. The balance portion of my transfer will be saved. It is amazing to see how much my dreams have come close to reality due to GD financial support.
