Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is better because I acquired 2 calves which I'm going to pay as bride price. I have not yet paid because I'm waiting for my second transfer so that I can add another calf and hold a cultural function. Prior to this transfer, I could not pay bride price because I never had cattle. Secondly, I can also afford to change clothes on a daily basis compared to before when I hardly changed clothes.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received money at 3:47 am, I felt very happy because GiveDirectly had fulfilled it's promise of giving us unconditional cash transfers.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I purchased 2 calves worth UGX 1,237,000, gifts worth UGX 17,000 and bought clothes/household goods( mattress) worth UGX 230,000. There is a balance of 117,000 which spend on food.
