How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I did not receive these transfers I would have died because we would not have enough food. Furthermore, I would have been a beggar because not receiving would mean I had to depend on my neighbours for food.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did an amazing job in our area. Most people would have died of hunger if GiveDirectly did not come to our village. Many families are happy and our children have even gained weight thanks to this organisation.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the momey to buy bricks and iron sheets because I want to build a house. I am just waiting for the rainy season to come to an end so that I can build my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very excited, I have never slept in the matress before and owning a matress at an old age is a blessing. I am very thankful to GD for changing my life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest different in my daily life is having a house with iron sheet. This is very big to me, am a very old woman and I have no source of income. I had no hope that one day I will own a house with iron sheet, when this rain stops I will build one and finally achieve what I have always wanted in my whole life. Now I wish my husband was alive to witness this, because it is what we ever wanted in this life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought matress, 3 goats, Iron sheet and 5bags of maize
