Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
In all my life, I have never handle the amount of money I am getting from GD. The moment I received a message concerning my transfer was something else. I couldn't believe that such amount of money was mine. All in all, I am very grateful for the transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My transfer has been a life changing event. I couldn't manage to buy iron sheets but thanks to GD because I have bought 20. My children also look nice in their school uniforms. The teachers could chase them in the past because they didn't have school uniforms.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My plan is to build a house next year. I have failed to build one because the rainy season is fast approaching. I need more money for the house project of which part of it will come from my second transfer. With the first transfer, I managed to buy 20 iron sheets and I am planning to buy bricks in preparation of building a house. I also had no beddings and I decided to buy a blacket which amounted to MK 25 000. I also used the money to buy clothes and school uniforms for my children. I also use part of the money to buy food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will be happy when I receive the transfer because I will be able to make improvements on my house such as buying good beddings, putting iron sheets on the roof and buying food for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am usually the happiest in the Afternoon because this is when I have sourced money and I'm able to eat with my family
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship has been the lack of decent housing, we do not have sufficient clothes to wear, both the children and I. Eating sufficiently is also a challenge.
