How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Apparently, my life has tremendously change in different aspects. For example I managed to add some household items that we lacking in my house like beddings especially bed, mattress and bed sheets. I also bought utensils, clothes among others. Furthermore, these money enable me build a iron roofed house that I never thought I could sleep in. Prior to receiving this money, I thought I could die without sleeping in a iron roofed house because there was no hope of constructing one. Lastly I used to sleep in a leaky grass thatched house whereby each time rain fell all my property got damaged.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my view, GiveDirectly's cash has helped reduce the burden in my household for example I have built a house therefore I will no longer suffer looking for grass to maintain my hut. There's nothing wrong done by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought livestock, household items, paid debts and feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have bought the required materials for constructing an iron roofed and the construction work is starting soon. Once my house is complete, I expect to be relieved from the burden of renovating my hut 3 times annually. It has been very difficult for me to find the thatch material since they are very scarce in our community. In addition, I acquired a new mattress and utensils unlike before when I slept on a very old mattress which was torn in to pieces.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I learnt that GiveDirectly had sent me money, I became very happy because my plan to construct an iron roofed house was going to be attained.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase construction materials(a trip of sand, 2 trips bricks), a mattress and utensils. The money which is left, I intend to spend it for buying iron sheets and to start up with the construction work(paying workers).

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will build an ironsheets house because thatching grass is being consumed by termites. I have spent the little money I get on replacing grass on my house. I will also buy some oxen and an ox-plough to ease agricultural practices. Previously I have been hiring ploughing services but with these transfers, I will be able to save that money and also make more money because I will hire it out once in a while. If there is some balance, I will also buy household items like beddings, furniture and cooking utensils.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning because its the time I wake up usually in good health and life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of money to buy my own agticultural land. I spend money on renting land and these attimes lives me with nothing to buy food and other basic needs.
