How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I now own a cow and a bull which I never thought of owning. My ten months old baby can now drink milk oftenly. Previously, I could not buy a cow and milk everyday for him yet he stopped breastfeeding when he was just two months old. Secondly,I have got back my farm land which I had used as security this I have enough land to cultivate compared to when I cultivated in small piece of land.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by enabling me own what I never had before like livestock and also getting back my farm land. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a bull, clothes/household goods, paid labourers who makes my bricks and bought food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is having a bicycle that now helps me with transporting heavy items, especially fetching water from a far place.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received my money, I felt so happy because I have never held such amount of money in a life time.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
First transfer was spent to pay school fees and household items like a bed, bedsheets, jerry cans. I bought a bicycle, hired cultivation land, and paid labour for constructing a pit latrine.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to take care of my children's education needs.
As I speak now, my children don't have school uniforms because I have not been in position to purchase for them.
However, I believe this will be sorted when I receive these transfers.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the morning when I wake up healthy.
This gives me the confidence that I will be able to handdle my tasks of the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is poverty.
Being a single parent, I have the responsibility of taking care of all my household needs as an individual and yet there is no clear source of income.
The little that I am able to earn from whatever small work that I engage in is spent on providing atleast basic needs for the family.
This leaves me with nothing to save hence poverty.
