Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
How I felt when I received my first transfer from GiveDirectly:
On one of the Fridays in October around 8:00 AM, I was lying-down in my room resting when I received a message on my phone. I called my grand-daughter to read the message because I am illiterate. When she told me that I have received $40,375.00LD from GiveDirectly on my mobile money account, I was so happy because I have not received that kind of money for a long time now.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly:
I have been planning and hoping for a long time now to build a decent house but couldn't because there was no sufficient money to do so. Now that GiveDirectly has blessed us with this money, my plan has been put to action. I have not been satisfy with my living condition but was managing because of lack of help; that is why I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this great help given to my family.

I used the money to buy zinc to fix my house because I have been planning and hoping to raise money for a long time now so I can fix my house. I want to build a house made of blocks so that I can feel more comfortable living in it. I will use my remaining transfer to build my dream house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"As you can see, some parts of my house is now falling apart due to the many leakages, so if I'm successful for Give Directly cash transfer program, I will used some of the money to recondition my house and also use some of the money to start up a business for my family and myself; because I believe from the business, l will be able to provide more food in my home."
