Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The most visible change is that I have completed the purchase of a piece of land. I am very happy because I had spent over two years without any hope of acquiring that plot. The cash transfers have also helped in the payment of school fees. This was a big challenge to the family as we had no other source of income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I overheard loud lamentations from the neighbourhood. So I woke up and asked my husband to check our phone. I was speechless when he revealed the good news to me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 100000 to complete the purchase of a piece of land. I bought a solar system for lighting worth UGX 130000. I spent UGX 130000 to pay school fees. I spent UGX 100000 to piurchase utensils, a water drum, food dishes. I also bought a mattress worth UGX 130000. I am planning to spend the remaining cash transfer on making bricks.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house for my safety. I will also buy a cow that will reproduce and support me in taking care of my children's education needs in future. I will also be able to have milk which I believe will make my family healthier and stronger.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my children return from school. They support me by doing some of domestic roles.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to provide the education needs of my children. I do cultivation for a living and it is the little that I am able to harvest that I sell part of in order to raise money for school fees. This limits the amount of food that I am left with to feed the family hence food shortage.
