Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt very happy because I got money for buying a bull which I never had.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life has changed because through this cash transfer, I acquired a bull which I intend to give my parents in-law as dwory. Previously, I could not afford to pay dwory. Secondly, I have also paid off the debt which was burdening me and repossessed my farm land.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have spent my first transfer on purchasing a bull worth UGX 800,000, paid off debt worth UGX 300,000, bought household goods ( utensil, clothes, table, mattresses) worth UGX 400,000 and paid labour worth UGX 200,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means marrying a spouse. This will be my source of support because, she will support me in doing household chores as I am riding motor cycle boda boda transport business to support our household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at 9:00am when I have completed garden work. It gives me time to go to the nearby center to carry on with my motor cycle transport business.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is loneliness. My spouse was taken back by her parents due to non payment of bride price. This has a ffected me because she left me with a three year old child. In our culture, a man is expected to pay bride price to the girl's family as a sign of apprecation for the proper up bringing of their daughter, this comes with respect.
