How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for GiveDirectly, we wouldn't have gotten money to build the new house which is currently offering me comfort in terms of shelter and also cold.
On this time where the rains have been high, we usually face problems with our houses where we've been rained on, exposing us to adverse climatic conditions leading to diseases.
We also experienced food shortages but were able to feed because of the cash transfer from the organization.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Honestly speaking; from the negative point of view, GD does not do anything wrong. Actually all the good things are attributed to this organization. Giving us unconditional cash for our own use is something that we are all proud of
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second tranfers in building my new house. I also spent some amount in procurement of maize for my family consumption. The stock were running low therefore the need to add more.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am stress-free and peaceful since I was so depressed because of lack of fee for my son. I used to lack sleep being anxious and worrying whom to borrow funds from. I am now peaceful that my son has cleared school and the burden of debt is off my shoulders all because Give Directly made it happen for me. I am forever grateful.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
God indeed does not leave his people. I was so happy when I received the transfer because I was wondering how I would pay back the debt. I used to really worry and have a heavy heart as a result.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Sobbing... I had been suffering with lack of tuition and accommodation fee for my son who was in college. I used Give Directly transfer to pay a debt of 15000 KES that I borrowed from a relative for fee. I then bought iron sheets 12100 KES to build a house, maize meal 2 sacks at 4600 KES and sent 1000 KES for fare to my son who has just cleared college to come back home. I have the balance which I will use to buy wood for building a house.
