How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference I have realised from the time GD intervened in to my life include the following. Prior receiving this cash, I struggled a lot from the time I lost my spouse. My house was incomplete, the children were always been sent home due school fees, I worked tirelessly doing manual work in order to provide food on the table which brought depression unto me. So when I got these transfers, everything changed that's to say, I plastered and cemented my house which looks more beautiful. In addition to this, I managed to pay fees for my children, acquire household items therefore I live a more relaxed and peaceful life now than the past.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly helped liberate me from the abject poverty I lived in.If it wasn't of GD I wouldn't have managed to complete my house, take my children to school and provide other necessities to my family. On the other side, GD did everything so well therefore I didn't noticed any wrong doings.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer in finishing my house which my spouse had constructed but was not complete because he succumbed to death due to poisoning. When I got this transfer, I decided to complete it by plastering and cementing the floor. The other part I spent it on school fees, Household items and feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is different in that I have plastered the house. Previously, the house was covered in dust and very uncomfortable to live in. I am also pleased that I can support my many grand children with basic needs like food and scholastic supplies.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a mobile money message at night but I did not read it. However, I read the message the next morning and I felt very happy. This money was to help me plaster the house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 350000 to purchase utensils, jerrycans and bedding. I bought gravel worth UGX 200000 and sand worth UGX 180000 and cement worth UGX 260000. I also bought scholastic supplies like books for my grand children and the balance of UGX 460000 is what I plan to complete the plastering of the house.
