How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I had never received the transfer in that, I managed to buy my own motorcycle using the first transfer. This has brought peace of mind in my life because I am my own boss. I do not have to struggle to go gamble for casual jobs which are normally not easy to do but difficult to find also. When I missed getting a casual job, I could resort to weeding sugarcane. This were the worst days of my life because weeding sugarcane is never easy. You spend the whole day but paid very little despite the hard work
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly is a transparent organization. One does not have to know someone or bribe anybody in order to receive help from them. There also no discrepancies since money is directly sent to our phones. There is nothing that Gives Directly is not doing right at the moment to me everything they did was perfect.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent a larger portion of my second transfer on purchasing two dairy cows. This is a great investment for me because in future when the cows give birth I will sell milk and earn some income from this business. I also remaining amount to purchase food. I must agree that we have also improved health wise because we can afford to eat a decent meal. We rarely go hungry due to lack of food. Part of the money was spent on furniture like buying a table and a bed because I had old ones that were not so good looking and small in size. My house looks beautiful now after furnishing it. Before the transfer life was difficult because I could get 300 KES from ferrying people and good which was not enough to buy all the things that I wanted. I am glad that I managed to but almost all the things which I had yearned for a long period of time.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving money from GiveDirectly is that I'm now relieved and comfortable because I'm running my own motorcycle thus improved income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when received my money I felt so happy and thanked God because I had already identified a motorcycle that I was to buy and I didn't want the owner to sell it to someone else. The money got at the right time.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Previously I was employed to rum someone's motorcycle which was not giving me enough income because I had to pay for it daily so when I received the money I bought a second-hand motorcycle with part of it that I'm using for taxi services. Part of the money I spent on food for the family and on replacing my bedding that was already worn out.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me so happy. I used to do taxi business using someone else's motorcycle, but now I will use my transfers to buy my own motorcycle so as to increase my savings.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I get to wake up healthy, and see a new day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I currently face is not having a stable job to get a stable income. I am a casual labourer and often the jobs we do are not guaranteed. This makes it very difficult for me to provide for my family's needs like food.
