Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my first cash transfer, I was so happy and I cried(tears of joy)...I have never received some a huge sum of money before, so it actually the best moment in my life..I am so grateful for the money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is that We are now so happy in our family as we are assured that in the following months we will be able to have a house of our own.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my first cash transfer on procuring construction materials such as twenty four Iron sheets at a total cost of k153,600,wires, timber, window frames as well as nails. I used the remaining cash to pay the builders, labourers and a car which was used in transporting the materials.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am happy to be in line to receive this money, it is a blessing beyond imagination for me it is something that I do not take for granted, my life will change for the better, as you can see , my house is grass roofed , I cannot manage to buy iron sheets for myself and the money will help to fill in that need, at my age I did not expect to handle such a huge sum of money, thanks alot for such an impact you will be to me
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am usually happy in the evening hours of the day because it is the time that we have food at our family, and that food always gives us a good mood more especially in my case that I am old to actively seek out for casual labour opportunities in the hope of getting some money to raise the grand children I am keeping
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been longing for a house roofed with iron sheets for a long time. The money will change my life for the better, I will no longer be worried when the rainy season is here as it has been the case in the past, this money will also bring consistent food availability as compared to the past years because I will save some of the money for the purchase of farm inputs in the coming agricultural year
