Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I have been living with poverty throughout my life and it has been a very tough moment. So when i received my transfer i was very happy because it was something i did not expect and first to happen in my life. It was a very tremendous moment as it lifted all my economic burdens
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that now i have things which i would not get had the transfer not been received. Now i have a bicycle, matress, iron sheets for a new house, enough food and a nice blanket. These things were far from reach but with GiveDirectly now i have them. Therefore my life has completely changed.

I spent my transfer on 20 iron sheets at MK4500 each, 1 matress at MK28000, 1 blanket at MK20000, 1 bicycle at MK65000, 4 bags of maize at MK9500 each and saved the remainder

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money will help me a lot because I will be able to buy a matress so that I can have a good place to sleep. I will also use some of this money to buy bags of maize for food. Most importantly I will use the money to build a house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I have worked and I am able to buy good food. I believe that receiving this money will make me happier because a lot of my problems will be solved using this money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face is lack of food and lack of good clothes. The money that I will receivw will assist me a lot in buying clothes for my children. So that my children can have good clothes when going to school.
