How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I have acquired oxen in a short period of time. This will help me in ploughing my farm land come rainy season. I bought windows and plastered my house that had taken long before completion. This transfer also enabled me buy a bigger bed, a mattress that is spacious enough. Previously, I had a smaller mattress that couldn't even accommodate my spouse and our twins although I slept on a mat. I used to get poor yields due to delayed ploughing. Most people who had oxen could prioritize their work before they could hire out the oxen.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to enable me acquire oxen and complete my house with the unconditional cash transfer I received. However, GiveDirectly did bad to make an empty promise of visiting some households for enrollment.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for purchasing an ox at UGX 950,000 to supplement the one that I had bought earlier. I also paid my daughter's school fees at UGX 425,000 and the remaining money I bought 2 mattresses, bed sheets and clothes. These new bedings have made my sleep comfortable.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have realized that my mind has settled after receiving my token transfer from Give Directly. What do I mean by this, I have been stressing myself how to complete the house. secondly I have bought a bull that I will partner with someone during ploughing season and the cow if it delivers we shall be able to take milk as it will multiplies. However much my problems are not fully settled but I thank Give Directly for lifting me from where I was to where I'm now.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy because I have never got this kind of money before even if I did any form of business, farming or and any other Organization to support us. First thing in the morning I called all my family members and sat them down. I informed them that Give Directly has sent the transfer and we were both happy about it. We began planning together as family what we should do with the transfer. So we came up Ideas to procure household items, Livestock and instead live in an open house we agreed to complete the house though it's no yet fully complete.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I sat down together with my family members to plan on how to spend this transfers. We agreed to buy household items like clothes, bed sheets which totaled to ugx 200000. Since I didn't have livestock we came up with a plan to purchase some and we bought one cow and a bull both at ugx 1000000. The remaining money which was ugx 500000 we budgeted it to complete the house which I had constructed some time but it was incomplete. So I bought two window at ugx 180000, Cement at ugx 250000 and a trip sand at ugx 70000 and gave my to start plastering the house as I wait for the Lump sum 1 transfer to pay for labor and buy the remaining windows.
