How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
As for now, I do not have any new goal. It is my plan that my previous goal set be achieved, and that is to have my house plastered with cement and be painted. I was unable to do all of these building works because I did not have the money to do them. Farming is the only source of livelihood for me and family. I am so happy and greatful to GiveDirectly for this opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Giving us the money as recipients and leaving us with the decision to decide how to spend it is something I have never seen since I was born. Moreover, reaching to the hard to reach communities like mine to help the poor is highly commendable. In addition to what GiveDirectly does well, by going to every house in the village in making sure that all deserving and eligible households is enrolled is well in place. Finally in my opinion, I have not seen anything that is not doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy zinc and nails with my first transfer. With the second transfer I hired a sawyer to saw planks for the roofing and furniture works on my house. I was also able to pay my children's school fees with portion of my second transfer. The most recent transfer was spent on purchasing cement and sylin tile. This transfer came just at the time when my son was about to be put out of school for his balance fees. I was able to pay all of his balance school fees from the transfer I recently received.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I needed enough money to plaster my entire house. I also needed to put floor in all parts of my house to get rid of too much mud, dust and sand. Moreover, I needed money to buy a new mattress for my room. Therefore, when I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I was able to fully complete my house by plastering the walls and also putting a concrete floor within the entire house. I also purchased a new and comfortable mattress for myself. I am so pleased with this program because my dreams wouldn't have come to reality without GiveDirectly's financial assistance.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has being upright in all they've done thus far. Their drive and method of reaching out to poor people like us and not expecting anything in return is beyond imagination. I am very amazed by GD's undertakings and I see nothing that GiveDirectly is not doing quite well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used portion of my transfer to purchase 20 bags of cement for $3,000LD. Portion of my transfer was also used to purchase a very big mattress for myself. Meanwhile, part of the money received from GiveDirectly was used to pay workers who helped plastered my house and also put the floor. The balance money was saved and will be used to begin a new project. GiveDirectly has been a huge blessing to me. They have transformed my life through their great financial assistance.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting in front of my house when my son saw the mobile money alert in the phone. I ran to me with the phone in his hands shouting mama, mama GiveDirectly has sent your money. I was really happy after had taken the phone from him and saw that, GiveDirectly has sent me that huge amount of money. All the years I have been doing farm and garden works I have not been able to get such an amount of money. I feel really happy for GiveDirectly coming to community to render this help.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly is that, I am going to have a porch attached to my house. Since this house was built, I have not been able to get money to build a sitting place outside. I am now proud that, I can hire someone to have a porch attachment to my house. Thank God for the GiveDirectly family. I pray that the world can know that GiveDirectly is truly the organization that is making a lot of impact in the lives of the poorest people around the world.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
As you can see, there is no porch on my house. I am going to use portion of my recent transfer to buy zinc and mattress. I will use the zinc to cover the porch I am going to pay contract to extend from the house. I thank God GiveDirectly. If it hasn't been for GiveDirectly to come to us in this town I couldn't have been talking about extending or attaching porch to my house. I will also use portion to pay my children's school fees.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will buy nutritious food with the money and also pay my children school fees . Since my husband died, my children and I haven't eaten food with the full nutrition therefore, they are not growing well.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiness in recent times was when all my children were promoted to the next classes. That freed up some stress I had.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge now is lack of finance. My children are in school but there is no money to buy the school materials or even pay the fees.
