How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a new house. Since I woke up in life, I have been living in people house and with the current support of Givedirectly she will now construct her own house. I have eight children, two girls and six boys, but only three of the currently with me in one room. The room is very small and can't not host all my children even if they come to visit me. I am embarking on this journey to live a comfortable life whereas all my children will have rooms and myself with have a room at the same time.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does well by helping people who like us who are in need. They have added value to my life and I am greatful for such life changing opportunity from Givedirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Considering my plan to construct a new house, I have already started purchasing some building materials to facilitate the construction. I bought three bundles of zinc $ 29,250 LD and 4, 500 to transport it. I also spent 30,000 LD on five of my children esucation. I at least supported with this to ease the school fees problem since they are living with other relatives in Monrovia going to school. I am greatful for the help Givedirectly is providing me and my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will build my house and educate my children, if I received the cash transfer. I don't have a dwelling place for me and my children. Due to lack of fatherly support, my kids are with other relatives of mine and two of them are not in school at all. It has been my earlier plan to build a home for my children since their father abandoned us. This cash gift could be the to my prayer of having a shelter for my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The promotion of my first son to the 12 grade in the month of July, 2021 was my happy time in the past six months. Men have taken advantage of my health condition ( deaf), to just have children by me and go by their way thereby leaving me with 4 children being supported by other relatives of mine. I strongly believe that my children will give me good future if they are educated.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Financial hardship is my current hardship due to abandonment. I am a single mother struggling with 4 children. My families are the great helping force for me and my children. My kids are not in school and I am still living with my brother due to lack of support. All these are happening because of the burden created on me by my children's father. As a result, financial difficulties remain the most hard tim for me.
