How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is different in that GiveDirectly has enabled me increase the stock of charcoal business, meaning I now generate more money, my dressing has improved, I now sleep better on a bed with a mattress. Before, I used to buy only one sack of charcoal to re-sale limiting the amount money I would generate, sleep on the house ground with a very old tiny mattress, and I had few un-presentable clothes to use in public.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving me money that has enabled me pay an old existing debt, acquire household items like clothes, and most of all, it gives money to everybody without discrimination as long as you don't lie to them. I don't see anything it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Second transfer was spent to pay an existing debt, bought four bags of cement, timber to build a simple iron sheet roofed house, paid school fees, and then spent some to buy more stock for my charcoal re-sale business.
