How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is difficult and we can not give up. Our major occupation here is mainly oil palm cultivation, but it has to take time before you can earn something. What I earning from the farming activities can not establish a business. I initially decided to struggle for one year and establish a sugarcane farm. Upon receiving the money, I concluded to wait for all the transfer and establish a big business in the town. This will help me sustain and take on other initiatives. My new goal is driven by the cash support from Givedirectly and I am forever grateful to them.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly intervention was timely. They came when some of us was really struggling. They have done well and still doing great.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am currently saving my money to establish a big business in the town. The idea of establishing a business is base on the associated hardship.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My name is Momodu Dukuly and I do farm work to sustain my family. The money I earn from the farm is not enough to educate my four children. While storing the rice I harvested from the farm, I heard people shouting. It was an abnormal noice, so I decided to visit my neighbor. It was during this moment that I received a mobile money message from Give Directly. I was so happy because school is about to open and I didnt have money to pay my children's educational expences. I felt very relief and it was like a burden was taken off my shoulders.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving the money from Give Directly, I did not have any savings. Saving money is very important because If I am stranded or sick, I can use my savings to take care of my medical expenses. Establishing a business a business will help save some money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to send my children to school, establish a business and to improve my farm.
