How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I planted beans last season which I harvested recently, even though the quantity that was harvested was not as much as I would have expected it to be. What I have been doing is that I sell the products in exchange of cash which I then use to feed my family and also pay school fees for my children.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a plan of saving some little cash every month so that I can be able to sort the family's financial needs. I have to admit though that saving some cash every month is not an easy thing especially for those of us who do not have a steady flow of income but then we must always try using the little that we have in the most appropriate way.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I used the cash to make major repairs on my house which included removing the entire floor that was there before and replacing it with a new floor
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I had a plan of starting tomatoes planting project which can help me boost my income in the foreseeable future. Once the project starts rolling, I know I will be able to get a lot of bags of the products which I will then sell to my customers and of course make some little profit from the business venture.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My daily life has changed because I was able to clear my children's school fees, which means that the little money I earn can be saved or used in buying proper food for my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to be a better farmer than I am now because the pump will help me with irrigation which will ensure that I get better output. My family will also be living in a better house.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I would not have managed to plaster my house at the moment because of the fee obligations that I have,I would have to wait until my children are done with secondary school before I could start saving for such a project.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I would like to purchase a water pump that I will use during the dry season to irrigate my farm which will greatly increase my income.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is unreliable source of income. I am unable to provide for my family's basic needs and this prevents me from meeting my goals.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening, this is when I sit down with my spouse and share a lot about daily activities then plan for the next day. It helps me monitor my set goals.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on buying building materials to improve my mud house to a semi permanent status currently, it's in a bad state. I will also buy oxen to boost my income by ploughing for my neighbors.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is having established my own home, now I am enjoying peace unlike when I used to stay in rental houses.
