Subsistence farming is the main activity in this community. I saw an opportunity for providing land preparation services like ploughing and therefore bought two bulls and a mould board plough. We offer ploughing service at a fee and this has become our major source of income. People prefer my services since they are readily available and considerate compared to unpredictable tractor services that are expensive. I have since engaged other two young men in this activity who also earn a living from it. I am no longer worried on how to provide for my family's basic needs since I have a reliable source of income unlike before when I used to offer cheap casual labor services in the sugarcane plantation that was tedious with meager earnings. At least I have been empowered to bargain for the services I offer than begging for mercy to be engaged for casual labor.

I spent the transfer on leasing a sugarcane farm that is already grown that will be ready for harvesting in August this year. I hope to make some profit out of this and use the money to built a better house, pay school fees, buy clothes and use the remaining part on expanding the farming business.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that l no longer use my own hand to cultivate or spend money to hire cows since l now have my owe cows.
