In the next four months, I plan to raise money to help buy building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails. My eldest son does not have a house and he sleeps at a friend's house. This is because he does not have a good source of income to help him raise money for buying building materials. I do not feel proud as a son because of this. I have decided to help him raise resources for putting up a house.

It has been my dream to buy and own livestock just like my neighbours in the village. I have always felt left behind because most of my friends have livestock in their homesteads. Whenever they tell stories about livestock, I have always had to listen because I do not have the experience to share with them. As a result, I was so determined to have my own but due to low income from casual work and farming, I could not manage to get enough even to buy even a sheep. Anytime I started saving for that, I would end up using the money on other family needs. When I started receiving my transfers and used them to solve my most family urgent needs, I was able to save some which I have used to buy three sheep. I am glad every morning, I have to open up for and tie them in my compound. I feel so proud because I have fulfilled my dream. Anytime I walk in and out of my compound, I feel so my pride within me because of GD transfers.

In the next six months, I know I will have a calf of my own. I plan to save part of my monthly transfers so that I can buy a cow. I know with the transfers, I will have the money for buying a cow. I will sell some of the sheep I already have and boost the money with part of my savings from the transfers to buy a calf. Thanks to GD for giving me hope when I had lost hope of owning livestock in my life.

Currently, I do not have to be dependent on relatives for any financial support. I have been able to save in a merry-go-round towards paying school fees for my child who will join College soon. I am also able to put food on the table for my family daily. That is how much my life has been different in the past four months.

I have been able to save a few transfers and bought some livestock for rearing which is a form of financial security for the family. I have always wanted to venture into livestock farming to help in generation of income during financial constraints. I cannot thank GiveDirectly for the transfers as my dream came to pass finally.

My child shall have joined college by then. I am also planning to save and build a new house for my son who does not have a proper house but is not capable to do so as his income is minimal it can only take care of his growing family.

Apart from being able to afford meals daily in my household. I am also self-dependent. Through these transfers, I am able to make decisions on money matters and I do not have to solely depend on my husband who sometimes misses and we fight on such issues. My husband depends on handouts from well-wishers he evangelizes for, something you cannot even rely on and being the man of the house, I expect him to provide, failure to which we could quarrel a lot. I am happy we no longer quarrel but can dialogue when it comes to money.

My new goal is to take my son who had just cleared his fourth year in high school to college. I have never managed to do this for lack of money. He will be taking a course in electrical engineering. With this, he will self-reliant if he will be lucky to get a job in future.

The biggest daily difference in my life is that we can now at least afford three meals a day. Previously we could even go a whole day without even a single meal. This was so frustrating, being a mother, almost all the household members expect you to provide, when you can't, you feel you have failed your family. This was so was so disheartening and frustrating. I was always depressed. I am happy I am able to provide for my family now through the cash I receive from GiveDirectly. We can afford three meals, at least most times of the week.

In the next six months, I am positive that I shall have bought at least some livestock. I will have them as my assets, once they reproduce, I will sell, make profits and do other major projects.

My current life is different from how it was four months ago with my family having enough to eat and something to depend on every month.

My new goal in the next four months is to buy livestock. We had sold most of them when paying school fees for my son who is secondary school.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to meet my family basic needs. I no longer take things on credit any more as I have money to pay cash any time of the month.

In the next six months,I expect my life to change for the better with me purchasing most of the things I have lacked for the better part of my life. Maybe I shall have bought new seats for my living room.

My new goal is to own small livestock since they have always come in handy in emergencies.

Honestly speaking ,GD payment saved me from embarrassment. It happens that our child who is a student in Secondary school had been sent away from the class room due to fee balance and had stayed at home for seven days.When I received the money, I decided to pay it and reduce the school debt, regardless of whether we would go hungry on that day.
