How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I just bought the balance zinc to complete my house. I even bought some nail for the zicing of my house. I also pay my children school feed and even bought them some schools material. I was only living on farming to survive.with the transfer I'm about to have a very descent house in this village. My children are been out of school because of my low income that I'm getting from the farming work.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am currently building a 4 bedroom apartment that needs to be roofed. With this transfer just received from GiveDirectly, I will purchase 3 bundles of zinc ($34,500LD) to roof my house. Likewise, portion of my transfer will be used to buy a big-sized mattress for my family. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to me and my family. I am so pleased with this program. It has given me hope for the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has been doing quite well with the entire program. They give hope to poor people like us by reaching out to these abandoned and hard to reach towns and villages. GD is also very honest in delivering cash to bona fide receipients. I don't see anything that GiveDirectly has been doing wrong.

My main aim at the moment is to complete my house and also purchase a very big mattress for my family. Hence, when I received my transfer, I bought 3 bundles zinc for $34,500LD. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was on the farm when my brother came and informed me that people have started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly in my community. I went to the network point in my village and my brother checked my account. He informed me that GiveDirectly has sent me transfer. I hugged him with happiness. I started dancing and praising God in my dialect. Life has not been very easy. I have been sleeping on mat. I live in an old grass thatch house. Recieving this transfer is a blessing for me. I have bought matress and two bundle of zinc to start building my house. GiveDirectly has started transforming my life from nothing to something.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I feel very happy daily. I never had a thought that I could recieve such assistance in my life. I have a big matress that am sleeping on. I feel very comfortable every night, unlike before, I was sleeping on mat. Even buying bundles of zinc to build my house bring joy to my heart everyday. I will start construction of my building when I get my second transfer. I appreciate GiveDirectly for such a great help.

I have decided to use my transfer on two paramount things. Firstly, I bought matress. I have been sleeping on mat. I have not been able to earn any huge money to buy myself a matress. What does receiving this money mean to you?
Life is very difficult in this village my Son, there is no good shelter and my children can not get quality education in this village. When I get this money, I will built a very decent place for me and my family to live. I will used the rest of the money to send my children to school in Monrovia so that they can achieve quality education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite all that life throw at me, seeing my alive has brought me great joy on a daily.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
When I was much younger I was healthy and active but as the years goes by and I advance in age, my health continue to get bad. Right now, I'm suffering from serious pain in my legs. I haven't seek proper medication attention due to the lack of money. I can only one meal for my children, sometimes when condition worsen and I'm able to provide that.
