How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now because I was able to buy a piece of land, hire more farm land and buy some seedlings. I now own two cows which I can sell incase of any urgent need for money. I wouldn't have got all these assets if it was not for these transfers. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to give me money and send workers who speak the local language. They treat us with respect during the interviews. I have no comment on what they are not doing well. GiveDirectly has done good work.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on purchase of a piece of land. I used the little balance for buying food and clothes for the child.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is having my own oxen that I will use in ploughing my gardens other than hiring from other people as before. This helps me save as I will not be hiring oxen again. In addition to that, having my own farm land has enabled me to be independent than before where we as a family used to have few gardens and it would cause quarrels when it comes to who should farm in which garden.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt over joyed the moment I received my money because most of my needs such as oxen, seedlings, household items and farm land would be catered for.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy two bulls at Ugx 1000000 that I will use to help in ploughing. I hired garden land at Ugx 500000 that I will cultivate I until my money is given back. I bought some groundnuts seedlings at Ugx 100000 that I planted. Lastly, I then used the remaining Ugx 100000 to buy some household items such as bedding.
