My husband is the only provider for our family, but he struggles to provide for us because his income from baking jobs is insufficient. In order to better our family's financial situation, I intend to open a grocery store and set aside a portion of the proceeds. The wisest course of action is to give us money and let us determine how to use it. It has made life easier in our community as most people have started businesses, taken care of other needs that they could not, and even enrolled their children in school. Since everyone only praises the organization for its excellent work, I am unaware of anything they are not doing right.

My spouse is caring for his three siblings, whose secondary school tuition was covered in full with the first transfer. Although our four young children have not yet joined secondary school, they will do so shortly. Due to the fact that my husband is our only source of income and works as a baker, it is difficult for us to satisfy all of our needs. Receiving the transfers meant so much to me. I was outside the compound doing laundry, I had to stop at some point to confirm what was going on in my neighborhood as there was alot of celebrations in form of wailing and singing. Upon confirmation from my mpesa, I had to join them celebrating as it came at the right time when I was in a financial crisis as I had so many family's needs to fulfil at that moment.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a savings account for my future use. Before the transfers, I never thought of having savings as it was from hand to mouth, unlike now I have a business which is picking up so well, with the profits, I will manage to expand it into a very big business with time.

Getting food had been the greatest challenge in my family, I therefore used Kshs 10,000 to buy dry foods, this lasted us a whole month. I started a grocery business with Kshs 10,000. Since it has high demand, I am hoping to save the profits in a lock savings account to be used in the future for paying school fees for my son who just joined secondary school.
