How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different as compared to the past since I had a big challenge of my house leaking..This was a huge problem especially during the rainy season as we were unable to sleep and it was so uncomfortable..So now I will have a new house with iron sheets and the leakage problem will be a story of the past.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
It provides unconditional cash which helps in empowering us as we are not told on how to spend it..The money therefore, helps in sustaining our households as we make choices that best describe our household situation..For example, I did not have a better house, now with the money I will be able to build a new house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the second cash transfer to purchase a few bags of cement which will be used in building my new house..I have also bought a few other building materials such as windowframes, doorframes and wires..I have saved some of the money so that I can be able to pay the builders.
