Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard everyone around me rejoicing and I got a bit confused, I realized moments later that we had received our first transfer and was so happy. I waited 5 days before withdrawing because I had plans of buying livestock and solar power for my home. I was able to pay for the solar energy but I am still looking for a healthy cow to buy with the transfer GD gave me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was very poor before receiving this transfer. I couldn't mentalize myself being able to afford a cow. This is now possible and I am able to think of other projects too thanks to GD.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to use most of my transfer in buying la cow. The reason I want to buy a cow is because I cultivate in the fields on a daily basis and I would easily get manure if I got this cow.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Because my current sewing machine is old I am planning to buy 2 new sewing machine one which cost $120 and a second one $100 , the balance I will buy one pig which cost $45 and I will pay back the solar system they gave us which costed $32. The second installment I am planning to buy a cow at $300 which will give me organic fertiliser to use in my farms. Receiving this money is a life changing opportunity for me because it will help me come out of poverty and fulfil my plans, I will use it in my farming activities and my tailoring business and I believe that it will help me generate enough profit and help me build my own house in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When our leaders told us that our sector have been selected to be among the one's to get the solar system that were being given it gave me Joy and it have been advantageous to me because now my son can be able to revise in the evening after school without any trouble because now we have enough light.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Life have been challeging because I don't have enough money to buy materials for my tailoring business , I started sewing in 2011 and up to now I only have one sewing machine which is not enough for me to keep going, I also don't get enough fertiliser because i don't have a cow, it requires me to trade some crops in order to get it but currently I'm not getting that opportunity because those who helped me get the organic fertiliser have sold their cows. Another challenge I am facing is not having my own house because I currently live in my father's house who left us 10 years ago to get another wife.
