What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer for servicing our motor cycle that is used for boda boda transport business and a bicycle that supports in fetching water for the household. I bought a cow that will act as a saving for my household. Part of the money was spent on paying school fees for our child and then helped in feeding the family, purchasing delivery kits and payment of medical bills. I have saved UGX 200000 in order to support me in weeding crops.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through making follow up calls to each beneficiary to ensure that every one received money without any risk. That is part of a good monitoring plan for the organisation. I do not see gaps in their operations.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I am feeding well because I acquired basic food items cassava for flour, posho and beans not forgetting the balanced diet that I feed on. Prior to this cash transfer, feeding had been a challenge because I was pregnant and I could not fend for the family.
