What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the entire second transfers in paying school fees for my children who are in secondary school and and the other university.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Nothing really can be recorded as having done wrong by the organization. Actually, the organization did well by offerings support in terms of finance to the people in a bid to help them push through hard times.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for the transfers, I don't think I would have paid all the school fees for our children who are in secondary school and university. Nowadays, they are not sent back like before when we had financial problems. They're are all in school and all their time is utilized in studying.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I received my first transfers the time I was wondering where I will get money to pay for my children's school fees when the school opens since finding some casual work to do had become very hard. When I received them, my husband and I decided to spend the entire amount in paying school fees for our two children in high school.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 7.30 am in the morning when I received a message confirming that I had received transfers from GiveDirectly. At that instant, I became so happy and I prayed to thank God for His blessings upon my family. I then informed my family who in turn started singing praising God for the good deeds He had done to our family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am usually stressed up on where to get money to pay school fees for my children when the schools open. This changed from the time I received my first transfers as I am always happy since my children are now in school and I know that they will not be sent back home to fetch school fees as I was able to clear this terms fees for them. Whenever I remember this, I always smile to myself and ask God to continue blessing where it came from so so that other people may also get an aid from them. So far, this is the biggest difference in my daily life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Knowing that i am not able to pay school fees for my children have been a real fear to me. Two years ago my second born son who had performed so well in his form four exams resorted to commiting suicide because i could not raise enough money for him to join college and this has really traumatized me to date especially that my other children are bright in school. I thank God for Givedirectly because it will help me solve most of my problems.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Usually, i go fetch firewood from far so that i can sell them. In the morning, I am always happy because i feel energized for the days' work and so I am sure that i will travel far to get firewood. With a guaranteed market , I am sure that my family will not sleep hungry.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
My fourth born son is in the university and we have had problems paying his school fees to the extend that he had to deffer studies after his first year. My wish is that he clears his studies so that he can lent a hand in paying school fees for his siblings; one who is joining form four and another one yet to join form one. This money will help me cater for part of his school fees and expand my firewood business so that i will be able to pay for his and his siblings' schooling.
