Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that with the cash transfer I started a produce business which is earning the family daily income. I will be able to pay school fees and cater for other family needs. I feel independent and empowered by the cash transfer. In the past, it was very hard for me. I had to juggle casual jobs so as to make ends meet.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when I received the cash transfer. I was among the last lot of people to receive the cash transfers. I was excited and felt very relieved because I had waited so long for this opportunity.

The first cash transfer was spent to purchase chairs worth UGX222000 and food dishes worth UGX180000 and bed sheets worth UGX54000 and clothes worth UGX100000. I spent UGX1100000 to start a produce business. I also bought a solar lamp worth UGX20000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to take care of the education needs of my children. I do cultivation so as to take care of the needs of my household. However, this is a very unpredictable venture due to changes in climate. Some times I am not able to pay my children's school fees on time so they end up being sent out of school. I am hopping that this money will support me in educating my children so that they can become better persons in future because they can finally be employed or start up some businesses with which they can sustain their lives.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am listening to radio programs. I always listen to the family program from which I am able to learn and correct some of the things that I have not been doing well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to buy oxen that I feel would really support my household. I struggle to find some money that can enable me to hire oxen but this is very inconviniencing and unrewarding because in most cases, I get the service late meaning I cultivate late which affects the harvest in the end.
