Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am healthy and happy because of the medical treatment that I received. Had I not received the cash transfer, my health would have deteriorated drastically. I am much happier because at my age I cannot engage in manual labour for survival. However, I am spending the cash transfer to purchase food for myself.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The phone was with the trustee when the money was sent. When he conveyed the news to me, I felt very happy even though I was bedridden.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
The first cash transfer was spent to buy a cow worth UGX880000 and UGX100000 was spent on treatment. I bought a mattress worth UGX110000 and a bed worth UGX70000 and a pair of bedsheets worth UGX140000. The balance was spent on food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Building a permanent house is what this money will mean to me. I am sleeping in a grass thatched house which is leaking as a result of holes made on the roof by rats. I will buy some bedding and the balance will be spent on feeding. I am aging and I depend on well wishers for support.
What is the happiest part of your day?
A round 2:00pm is my happiest part of the day. I eat lunch and then go out to seat with neighbours due to loneliness. They make me happy because I interract with them and that makes me happy. Much of the time, I stay a lone and boardom is my companion.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is inadequate food. I am old and I depend on well wishers for support in terms of food, salt, soap and medical care. I do not cultivate on farm land but only exercise by weeding a round the compound.
